This is a fulltime post of 37 hours per week, with a shift pattern of Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:30pm.
Do you have the clinical dietetic skills to drive forward Surgery & Critical Care dietetics in NHSGGC adult acute services based at GRI? In this post, working as part of Adult Dietetic Critical Care team led by the existing Advanced Practitioner and Clinical Team Lead, you will manage a complex clinical caseload in surgery & critical care, working across sites between GRI and QEUH, providing expert support and advice/opinion in this specialty.
NHS GG&C Adult Acute Surgical & Critical Care Team supports some of the most advanced surgeries across Glasgow, at GRI site where major upper GI, HPB, Sarcoma, Major Burns and Intestinal Failure Surgical Teams are located and at QEUH site where specialties such as Vascular and major urology surgery takes place with one of the biggest Critical Care Units on site. Opportunities exist on both sites to work with a multi-disciplinary Nutrition Team, managing day to day prescribing of Parenteral and complex Enteral Nutrition, and you will be actively involved in the nutritional care of this complex caseload.
Contributing to 25% of the dietetic practice placements in Scotland this post will also contribute to developing students' clinical skills during their dietetic practice placements as well as supporting supervision and development of rotational band 5 staff within team. Previous experience of surgery, evidence of interprofessional team working, minimum requirements are BSc in Human Nutrition & Dietetics, HCPC registration and PVG membership are essential.

The aim of nutritional support is to attenuate the detrimental effects of critical illness. Discuss recent and current guidelines around this and how you would implement and measure outcomes of a nutritional care plan for a critically ill surgical patient
