Our client, a forward-thinking and values-driven organisation, is seeking an Assistant Management Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a mission-led organisation that is making a tangible impact in its field.
About the Role:
The Assistant Management Accountant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of the finance department. This includes managing day-to-day financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and supporting the production of monthly management accounts. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Finance to maintain financial accuracy and compliance while contributing to the organisation’s broader goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Monitor and process daily transactions, including bank account activity and reconciliations.
* Prepare and execute payment runs, transfers, and credit control activities.
* Process purchase invoices, sales ledger receipts, and credit card transactions.
* Support the Head of Finance in producing monthly management accounts and statutory reporting.
* Assist with annual audits, VAT returns, and other statutory requirements.
* Respond to financial queries from internal stakeholders and maintain accurate financial records.
* Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the finance team.

About You:
The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented and proactive individual with a strong foundation in accounting. You’ll be a team player who can work independently and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines.
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Strong experience with reconciliations and financial reporting.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships.
* Intermediate Excel skills and a keen eye for detail.
* Progressing towards a professional qualification (AAT, CIMA, or ACCA).
* Experience with Sage 200 and charity accounting.
* Familiarity with system upgrades and process improvements.
