London’s Air Ambulance Charity provides a world-class HEMS service to London. Operating EC135 T3H aircraft, we deliver pre-hospital care to those who need it most, operating until sunset every day over one of the world’s largest, most diverse and complex cities from the helipad at The Royal London Hospital.
This is a rare opportunity to join our Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) team as the Continuing Airworthiness Manager (CAM). The role ensures the continuing airworthiness of our two EC135 T3H aircraft, meeting the company’s obligations.
About The Role
The CAM reports directly to the AM and is responsible for the continued airworthiness of the helicopter fleet as defined in the Approved Maintenance Programme. The role ensures all maintenance and airworthiness activity complies with applicable regulations and the requirements of the company’s Continuing Airworthiness Management Exposition. Responsibilities include:
* Managing the maintenance and airworthiness of the aircraft in collaboration with the Accountable Manager, Chief Pilot, Safety and Compliance Manager, and other nominated persons.
* Overseeing and working closely with the contracted Part-145 maintenance provider and sub‑contracted CAMO activities.
* Coordinating with external service providers (e.g., Airbus UK, CAA offices).
* Maintaining and updating procedures, manuals, and documentation to ensure safe operations.
* Participating in training, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
About The Person
We look for a candidate with:
* Good working knowledge of UK commercial aviation regulations.
* Experience in regulatory oversight of CAA Part-CAMO, Part CAT, SPO HEMS, and Part-145.
* Experience in a rotary or commercial aviation organisation, capable of working within multidisciplinary teams.
* A skilled civil/military aviation professional with training and experience managing Part CAMO, Part M, CAME and associated procedures.
* A strong sense of accountability and the ability to work flexibly around aircraft and clinical operational requirements.
The role is part‑time, equivalent to around two days a week, and is a hybrid-working position conducted from home, the Royal London Hospital helipad, and RAF Northolt where the aircraft are housed overnight. The successful candidate will be required to travel to visit maintenance providers, training sites, and the CAA offices as needed.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate an active interest in the overall activities of the London Air Ambulance Charity and reflect our values in all interactions with stakeholders.
