This full-time role involves providing dedicated support to Year 2 pupils who are working at a nursery level, requiring a calm, patient, and highly supportive approach to learning and development. This position is ideal for someone with experience supporting children with additional needs, early developmental stages, or nursery-aged learning within a primary setting. The Ideal Candidate Will Have Experience working with SEN pupils, early years, or children working below age-related expectations. A nurturing, patient, and empathetic approach, with a strong understanding of child development. Confidence supporting pupils with communication needs, sensory needs, and emotional regulation. The ability to provide consistent routines and a calm learning environment. Strong communication skills to work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals. A proactive, reliable, and caring attitude. A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential). Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group SEN support to Year 2 pupils working at a nursery level. Support learning through play-based, sensory, and early years-style activities. Assist with personal, social, and emotional development. Encourage communication, early language, and interaction skills. Help manage transitions, routines, and emotional regulation throughout the school day. Support positive behaviour using consistent and nurturing strategies.
