Senior Social Worker - Referral & Assessment
Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency has a new permanent position available for a Senior Social Worker within the Referral & Assessment Team to work full time based in Slough. The salary for this permanent Senior Social Worker job is up to £45,812 per annum.
Overview
Senior Social Worker responsible for delivering social work on allocated cases with outcome-based plans, considering the needs and risks to children and their families.
Responsibilities
* Develop effective relationships with children and young people (CYP) and their families to determine the level of service, ensuring written plans reflect their views and are agreed.
* Determine, using evidence-based practice, how needs will be met within resource availability and statutory responsibilities, following council policies and procedures.
* Maintain effective individual performance in line with national standards and performance indicators, including receiving regular supervision.
* Participate in routine auditing to secure high standards of social work practice and record keeping in line with the Quality Assurance Framework.
* Address the needs of service users from all communities and ensure access to translation and interpretation services as necessary.
* Complete financial assessments and determine contributions and levels of need/service where appropriate.
* Identify resources required and available to promote child/family wellbeing with agreement from the Social Work Team Manager/Practice Manager.
* Develop and maintain effective working relationships with partner agencies (voluntary, community, schools, police, health, other statutory agencies, local resource networks) and internal partners.
* Maintain, monitor and review accurate records of all work undertaken, including use of the Integrated Children’s System.
* Move casework to other areas of service as appropriate with a clear transfer plan.
* Contribute to the development of services to children and families and participate in team meetings to promote integrated and effective services.
* Identify own learning needs and ensure practice reflects contemporary thinking, using supervision to plan future development.
* Provide cover for the work of other team members and undertake projects and additional duties commensurate with the role.
Requirements
* A social work qualification or equivalent.
* Understanding of relevant legislation.
* Social Work England registered.
