Energy Consultant

Up to £60,000 Basic + Uncapped Commission (OTE £90,000+)
Our client is continuing their rapid growth and is looking to expand their highly successful B2B sales division with the addition of experienced Energy Consultants based at their Sunderland head office.
This is an opportunity for a proven commercial energy sales professional to join a thriving business offering genuine earning potential, market-leading commission, and clear progression opportunities within a supportive and ambitious environment.
The successful candidate will take ownership of the full sales cycle – from prospecting and consultation through to negotiation, closing, and account management – helping businesses secure tailored energy solutions that deliver long-term value.
The Role:
1. Manage the full sales process from lead generation through to close
2. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of SME and commercial clients
3. Develop new business opportunities through outbound B2B sales activity
4. Deliver a consultative approach, understanding customer requirements and providing tailored energy solutions
5. Build long-term relationships with customers and act as a trusted advisor
6. Negotiate and close energy contracts across a range of products and services
7. Effectively manage your own diary, pipeline, and follow-up activity
8. Consistently achieve and exceed daily, weekly, and monthly targets
9. Stay informed on market trends and confidently educate customers on the energy market
10. Deliver outstanding customer service throughout the customer journey
About You:
11. Previous experience within commercial energy sales is essential
12. Proven track record of hitting and exceeding sales targets
13. Strong closing ability with a consultative sales approach
14. Confident speaking with business owners and decision-makers
15. Self-motivated, driven, and financially ambitious
16. Excellent objection handling and negotiation skills
17. Strong communication skills – professional, articulate, and confident
18. Able to manage your own workload in a fast-paced sales environment
19. Computer literate with good organisational skills
20. Team player with a positive and proactive attitude
21. Basic salary up to £60,000 depending on experience
22. Realistic OTE of £90,000+
23. Uncapped commission structure
24. Contractual salary increases based on performance
25. Monday – Thursday: 9am – 5pm
26. Friday: 9am – 3pm
