A welcoming and well-regarded one-form entry primary school in Islington is seeking a caring and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This full-time, long-term role is perfect for someone passionate about making a lasting difference in the lives of young children with special educational needs.
Position Overview:
* Start Date: September 2025
* Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30am - 3:45pm
* Pay Rate: 90 - 101 per day (PAYE)
* Contract: Long-term, term time only
Your Role Will Include:
* Supporting pupils in Reception and Year 1 with Autism, both 1:1 and in small groups
* Assisting with learning activities, as well as leading intervention sessions outside the classroom
* Helping children with emotional regulation, behaviour management, and overall wellbeing
* Working closely with class teachers and the SENCO to implement personalised strategies
We're Looking For Someone Who:
* Has previous experience supporting children with SEND, particularly Autism
* Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a proactive approach in the classroom
* Is confident supporting behaviour and emotional needs in a positive and calm manner
* Works well both independently and as part of a wider team
