We have a fantastic opportunity for a Substation Inspector to join our team!
Role Overview
As a Substation Inspector, you will be responsible for carrying out routine safety and condition inspections of our Distribution Assets, covering all plant types and voltages associated with the Distribution Network.
In addition to inspections, you will handle vegetation clearance activities across various conditions and weather. The role is divided into two parts: the first 6 months focusing on ground maintenance and substation clearance, followed by 6 months dedicated to substation inspections.
You will need to travel between Swindon and Oxford, with a van provided for transportation.
Responsibilities
1. Inspect equipment at substation sites and ensure sites are clear of vegetation for access and safety.
2. Collect accurate data to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, documented according to standards and procedures.
3. Identify potential faults in the distribution network and escalate issues promptly, maintaining safety at all times.
4. Work primarily independently, meeting deadlines and implementing business improvements.
Requirements
* Understanding of Distribution Network Operations (DNO) and relevant safety regulations.
* Knowledge of COSHH regulations.
* Awareness of asbestos and confined spaces.
* A full driving license is essential due to travel requirements.
