Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Business Development, will play a critical role in driving global sales and business development strategy for our cutting-edge Cell and Gene Therapies (CGT) Technologies division. Reporting to the Senior Director for Sales and Business Development, the Senior Manager will be instrumental in growing our portfolio by identifying and leveraging strategic partnerships and business development initiatives in the rapidly advancing field of cell and gene therapies.
The Senior Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Field Application Specialists, R&D, Product Management, and Legal, to shape and execute business strategies that foster innovation and accelerate growth in line with overall business objectives and market needs. This role is ideal for a highly driven, strategic thinker with deep industry knowledge in Cell & Gene Therapies.
Additional Details
* This position may be remote, with willingness and ability to travel up to 40% (domestic & international), including regular trips to our U.S. headquarters in Lake Zurich, IL.
* Base salary range: $163,000-$182,000
* Eligible for an annual bonus plan with a target of 14% of the base salary.
* Final pay will depend on experience, education, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities
1. Develop and execute business strategies to expand the CGT division through partnerships, collaborations, and licensing deals with internal and external stakeholders.
2. Identify, evaluate, and cultivate new business opportunities, including collaborations with pharmaceutical companies, biotech firms, academic institutions, CDMOs, and other stakeholders in the gene and cell therapy space.
3. Lead negotiations and structure complex agreements, ensuring favorable terms aligned with organizational goals while managing risks and stakeholder interests.
4. Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive dynamics to identify opportunities and threats, providing insights for strategic decisions.
5. Collaborate with R&D, product management, legal, commercial, and marketing teams to assess feasibility, drive objectives, and manage project timelines for partnerships.
Job Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Science, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
* 8+ years in sales and/or business development.
* 3+ years specifically in the Cell and Gene Therapies industry, with a deep understanding of market trends and customer needs.
* Proficiency with Salesforce CRM and business analytics tools.
* Ability to travel up to 40%, including international travel.
