We looking for people who can be very flexible in their hours to cover sickness, leave etc sometimes at a moments notice.

Responsibilities:
As a Library Assistant, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our readers enjoy a seamless library experience. Your key responsibilities will include:
Acknowledging readers and assisting with book issuing and discharging
Handling monetary transactions and providing change
Performing routine clerical duties like shelving, sorting, and repairing books
Maintaining a tidy library counter and overall cleanliness
Conducting bibliographical tasks and using the library catalogue
Assisting with reader enquiries, with ongoing training provided
Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
Excellent customer service skills
Basic money handling experience
Familiarity with clerical duties and administrative support
Commitment to data protection compliance
Strong communication skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):
Previous experience in a library setting
Knowledge of bibliographical resources and cataloguing
Familiarity with health and safety policies
Interest in ongoing professional development
Technologies:
Library management systems
Basic IT skills for data entry and record keeping
