Job Title: Health and Safety Consultant

Location: Flexible- Hybrid Working (Regular travel throughout the UK Required)

Type: Hybrid

Salary: Competitive + car/car allowance £4,250 per annum + enhanced maternity/ paternity and sick pay + further fantastic benefits package.

About the Role

We are growing Health and Safety team and looking for an experience Health and Safety Consultant to provide high-quality consulting support to help clients achieve operational excellence by delivering SMS-related services and to support in identifying innovative solutions and services for current and future clients.

Responsibilities involve:

1. Conduct research and guide clients
2. Keep abreast of current legislation, relevant national and international standards and guidelines and technical developments within the appropriate field
3. To respond to requests from client work and proposals
4. Assist in the delivery of projects on time and to budget; to manage resources in the delivery of the projects; to participate in regular project reviews
5. To follow all financial procedures in the delivery of projects
6. Ensure the use of the technical tools and methodologies in the delivery of projects to the standard set
7. Provide high quality technical consultancy to clients and team members
8. Adhere to site safety practices where site work is undertaken
9. Contribute to a rolling forward forecast to provide visibility of future workload
10. Monitor individual utilisation versus targets and activity to manage optimal utilisation
11. Monitor and report on KPIs
12. Ensure full implementation and use of the competency framework
13. Work collaboratively with the client’s vendors/contractors to ensure effective and seamless service delivery, including significant engagement with the Facilities Management vendor and site visits where needed.
14. Support Design and Construction works from the EHS standpoint of view.
15. Supervise and liaise with different stakeholders to ensure safety during events, both onsite and offsite.
16. Support during internal / external audits and inspections from the Authorities.

21. Able to hold candid conversations with clients, internal stakeholders, and the BV network.

23. Ability to prioritise and schedule objectives to optimise time, cost, and quality.
24. Strives to improve performance and uses innovative methods to get there
25. Strong Project management

Qualifications

Essential:

Minimum of NEBOSH general certificate or a degree in health and safety

Other relevant occupational safety health qualification, human factors, engineering, and psychology.

Desirable:

26. Lead Auditor ISO standards (ISO 45001 and 14001)
27. Relevant qualification and experience in fire risk assessment
28. Relevant experience and qualification in ergonomics or human factors
29. Knowledge and skill in applying a variety of human factors or ergonomics tools
30. Relevant experience in the energy industry, including offshore expertise in maintaining a human focused HSE standard.
31. Relevant experience with operational excellence (6-sigma, lean or kaizen) methodologies
32. Relevant experience or understanding of resilience engineering, safety II, human organisational performance, and safety culture.
33. Experience with project management methodologies
