In the 12-month Supply Chain Management Placement, you\'ll gain hands-on experience in procurement, sourcing, logistics and supply chain management across GE Aerospace sites.

Roles and Responsibilities
In this 12-month Supply Chain Management Placement, you\'ll gain experience in procurement, sourcing, logistics, supplier delivery, and supply chain management. Specific responsibilities depend on location and role, and may include:
* Supplier engagement, order management, tender reviews, cost reduction, inventory management, or logistics support
* Cross-functional process improvements, cost-out projects, and initiatives such as Product Cost and Defect PSR
* Data analysis, dashboard creation, problem solving, and process optimization
* Supporting Operations Leaders with reporting and identifying improvement opportunities
* Ensuring compliance with lean tools like Hoshin Kanri
* Project planning, lean manufacturing, SQDC monitoring, and daily management activities aligned with business targets
There are multiple role types in this area, including Logistics & Supply Chain Management (Caledonian), Sourcing Initiatives (Cheltenham), GE9x NPI Project Team (Wales), Engineering Leadership (Cheltenham), Business Operations (Cheltenham), Operations Team (Dowty, Gloucester), and Strategic Planning (Cheltenham).
You will be guided by structured goals and objectives, with support from your People Leader and team. Coaching and mentoring will be provided, plus opportunities to connect with other placement students across the UK.
This opportunity is offered in Cardiff, Cheltenham Caledonian (Prestwick, Scotland) and Gloucester (Dowty) sites. Location and role preferences will be considered during the process.
GE Aerospace Wales
GE Aerospace Wales focuses on maintenance, repair and overhaul of commercial jet engines, based in Nantgarw with extensive workshop space and engine test facilities. The site services a range of engines and operates globally with a large customer base.
Other Sites
GE Aerospace Cheltenham focuses on design, development and manufacture of power distribution and avionics systems. GE Aerospace Caledonian specializes in MRO of CF6 & GEnx engines. Dowty, a GE Aerospace company, provides electronically controlled composite propeller systems.
The placement acts as a pipeline to GE\'s Operations Management Leadership Programme (OMLP), with graduate opportunities toward the end of the placement year. A 2:1 degree or higher is required to secure a graduate offer.

Qualifications / Requirements
* Currently studying a Bachelor\'s or integrated Master\'s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Project Management, or Data Science
* Keen interest in Supply Chain Management
* On course to achieve a 2:1 degree or above
* Penultimate year of study and returning to education post-placement
