The Senior Employee Relations (ER) Manager ensures Amazon’s compliance with upcoming EU regulations, manages trade unions, fosters employee engagement, and supports organizational transformation across the EU. This role is part of the Employee Experience and Relations (EXR) team, reporting directly to the EU EXR Risk, Project & Compliance leader. It involves close collaboration with stakeholders at the country, business line (BL), pan-EU, and global levels (notably the Global Labor Relations Team). The aim is to enhance compliance, promote positive employee engagement, and increase Amazon’s agility in managing complex situations.
This position can be based in France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Luxembourg, or the UK, with travel up to 30% within the EU.
Key Responsibilities
1. EU Regulatory Compliance and Coordination: Coordinate efforts related to upcoming EU regulations, including working with Public Policy to identify regulations, conducting impact analyses, supporting gap analysis across EU countries, and managing preparation at the country level. Responsible for the EXR plan regarding the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).
2. Third-Party Strategy Management: Lead the pan-EU strategy for third-party activities, maintain insights on relevant trends, develop engagement strategies, and provide recommendations, especially concerning significant developments like UK reforms.
3. Employee Engagement and Pride Campaigns: Design and deliver training to enhance ER capacities within HR and senior leaders. Collaborate with PR and communications teams to develop campaigns that boost employee pride and sentiment, including innovative "test & learn" initiatives.
4. Labor Relations Framework Development: Develop frameworks for major transformation cycles to standardize processes, reduce costs, and improve stakeholder and employee satisfaction across the EU.
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Employment Law, Industrial Relations, or related field
* Experience in Employee and Labor Relations management across the EU, managing complex stakeholder relationships, including third-party engagement
* Fluency in English (C2 level) and at least one other European language (e.g., French, Spanish, Italian, German)
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in a related field
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and influencing skills
* Ability to produce high-quality written communications and work independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments
