Capacity Planning Manager

Purpose Of The Job
Responsible for overseeing and optimizing the capacity planning process to align with organizational goals and ensure efficient resource utilization. This role involves analyzing current and future demands, forecasting capacity requirements, and implementing strategies to balance supply with demand. The Capacity Planning manager collaborates closely with various departments, including operations, finance, and human resources, to develop and execute plans that enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve overall service delivery. Effective communication, analytical skills, and the ability to make data-driven decisions are essential for success in this role
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
* Analyze business forecasts and operational trends to assess current and future capacity requirements.
* Develop and refine capacity planning models and tools to improve resource utilization.
* Collaborate with other cross-functional teams to align capacity planning with business objectives.
* Monitor production schedules and adjust plans to address any bottlenecks, delays, or shifts in demand.
* Lead regular capacity planning meetings to review and update planning strategies.
* Prepare and present capacity reports and KPI metrics to senior management, offering insights and actionable recommendations.
* Identify and execute process improvement initiatives to increase the efficiency of capacity planning.
* Manage the capacity planning team, offering guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
* Coordinate with suppliers and external partners to synchronize capacity and production capabilities.
* Utilize data analytics and forecasting tools to predict future capacity needs.
* Make strategic decisions on scaling production capacity in line with long-term business goals.
* Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks related to capacity imbalances.
* Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards in capacity planning and resource management.
* Stay informed about industry best practices and technological advancements in the field of capacity planning
Minimum Requirements
Education, knowledge, skills, experience.
* Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in capacity planning, production planning, or a similar role.
* Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role within a capacity planning environment.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and create actionable insights.
* Proficiency in capacity planning software and tools, such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
* Advanced knowledge of Excel and other data analysis tools..
* Strong project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing conditions and priorities.
* Strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities.
* Experience with data analytics and forecasting methods to predict capacity needs.
* Ability to prepare and present detailed reports to senior management.
* Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards related to capacity planning.
* Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills.
* Willingness to stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements.
