Queens Park Group Surgery in Bedford is looking to welcome an experienced practice nurse to the team, to assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluate treatment programmes for our patients, on a full or part time basis depending on the successful applicant. The main purpose of the role is t he implementation of health promotion, disease management strategies and provision of a full range of nursing services to the patients of the practice. These will include, c hronic disease management and the completion of health checks, health screening, immunisation and vaccination programmes. Duties and responsibilities will include; General nursing duties, e.g. dressings, ear syringing, etc. Complete ECG and spirometry testing. Provision of health and travel advice. Health checks for both newly registered patients and the over 75’s. Carry out screenings, e.g. lipids, blood pressure, cervical smears, etc. Support and assistance with clinics, e.g. diabetic, hypertension, asthma, menopause, warfarin, minor surgery, contraception etc. Taking and preparing of pathology samples and venepuncture if required. About the Candidate All applicants should have the following qualifications, registrations, skills and experience: You will be able to provide evidence of the following: Degree level nursing qualification. Excellent clinical skills and experience. You will be able to prove proficiency in the following areas: Minimum of 2 years related experience or equivalent. High level of communication skills.
