GSL Education Leicester are looking for a Teaching Assistant/Cover Supervisors to work in one of our Primary Schools. The role will be working in Year 6 classroom doing both TA role and cover supervisor role in the Teachers absence.
As a Cover Supervisor, your main responsibilities will be to:
* Supervisor classes across the curriculum in the event of a teacher absence.
* Ensure that pupils are engaging in pre-planned work.
* Manage pupil behaviour to create a safe and positive learning environment.
* Liaise with other staff members in regard to work being set and ensure you have all suitable resources.
* Provide feedback to the class teacher on pupil attendance, engagement and completion of work tasks.
To be a successful Cover Supervisor you should:
* Hold an NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or higher or be a Graduate considering a career in education.
* Have knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies (training can be provided).
* Have the ability and willingness to undertake additional training and courses to enhance your professional development.
* Empathise with young people and have good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Have the ability to use your own initiative to work flexibly and be able to respond to different situations.
