The Opportunity
We currently have an opportunity for a Transport Planner to join our busy Transport Planning team, based in Cambridge, on a permanent basis. The role would suit a transport planner with a broad understanding of all elements of the profession, ideally with a focus on transport planning for development projects and public sector schemes.
Our Cambridge office is located in the vibrant city center, close to the University of Cambridge, scenic River Cam, parks, and excellent transport links to London. We work on high-profile projects such as North West Cambridge Development (Eddington), Addenbrooke’s Hospital Biomedical Campus, Waterbeach Barracks, Tendring and Colchester Borders Garden Community, and Alconbury Weald.
You will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects, from strategic land development to infrastructure and public sector commissions. You will support technical outputs like Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, transport studies, and liaise with clients, authorities, and design teams. Mentoring junior team members and developing your skills are integral parts of this role.
This position offers significant career progression, with mentoring and training to help you achieve professional qualifications.
About You
You should be degree qualified in transportation, geography, engineering, or a related field. Experience with Transport Assessments, Travel Planning, junction modelling, relevant software, and strong numerical skills are essential. Ideally, you are working towards a professional qualification such as Chartered Transport Planning Professional.
