The job itself
9-year-old boy with Autism that resides in Hessle is looking for a worker to support him access activities in the community. The young person loves being outdoors, going on walks, swimming, trampolining, and rock climbing.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Encouraging the recipient to engage in activities.
2. Helping to improve their social skills.
3. Settling and supporting the individual.
4. Keeping them safe in the community.
5. Attending/transporting the individual to social activities and appointments.
6. Encouraging social interaction and inclusion and providing emotional support.
This role is for 4 hours per week during term time, with an additional 6 hours per week during school holidays. Days and times to be agreed with employer.
The suitable candidate must:
7. Be patient, caring and understanding.
8. Be able to build a positive relationship with the child to both encourage and support them.
9. Be flexible to meet the needs of the family.
10. Have knowledge of working with or supporting a child with special needs.
Ideal candidate will hold a full driving licence but non-drivers will also be considered.
