The job itself

The East Riding of Yorkshire Council's Adult Social Care Service is dedicated to delivering exceptional care and support to vulnerable adults. Join our dynamic team and be part of a mission to transform lives and make a meaningful impact every day.

We are seeking an experienced Social Worker, with a minimum of 2 years post Social Worker qualification, who is passionate and dedicated to work in the Review Team.You will be responsible in the delivery of care to vulnerable adults, undertaking annual reviews under The Care Act in residential care homes. You will support adults to maintain and promote their independence using a strength-based approach, this will include drawing upon skills, local knowledge, and wider networks.

The Review Team covers the whole of the East Riding geographical area, and you may be expected to travel out of county to undertake reviews and assessments, therefore you should have a willingness to travel, have access to transport and a clean driving licence.

The role will require you to work in a range of situations and support clients at times of crisis. You must demonstrate knowledge of the key legislations, such as the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the Human Rights Act 1998.

A working knowledge and experience of safeguarding vulnerable adults, undertaking Section 42 enquiries and working within safeguarding procedures is key to this role.

If you are an excellent communicator, can manage your time effectively, work under pressure and be flexible in your approach, you will be demonstrating the essential requirements of the role. You will also possess excellent written and IT skills and be expected to input data on the adult information database which is essential in collating data for the performance agenda as well as compiling a complete individual electronic social care record. The ability to use Microsoft applications is an advantage.

The team currently operates between Monday and Friday however a move to seven-day working is under consideration.
