Ideally, applicants will already be well-established in a team leadership role and looking for a fresh challenge with a leading global consultancy.
About the role
You will work alongside our existing team of Carbon and Energy Management, Climate Change and ESG professionals to play a lead role in developing all aspects of these capabilities within the Built Environment sector. This will include all aspects of technical delivery and business development, and will offer a great opportunity to grow a team of professionals working within this sector as workloads grow.

About you
As an experienced consultant providing advisory services across Carbon and Energy Management and Buildings Sustainability across the Built Environment sector, we'd envisage that you would be able to demonstrate strong technical and project management skills and be effective communicators with strong interpersonal skills. To succeed in this role, we'd envisage that you would bring/offer:
* Degree or higher in a relevant engineering or science-based subject, and ideally be a Chartered Engineer and member of a relevant professional institute.
* Good knowledge of current and future drivers around energy and sustainability in a UK and International context.
* Strong track record in business development, in particular in preparing proposals and tenders, and working with multi-disciplinary bid teams
* Strong technical knowledge in three or more of the areas listed below
* Good presentation skills, and will be comfortable communicating findings at all levels
* Strong personal network and potential to identify and attract new talent and build a team around you.
Whilst not essential, it would be advantageous if you brought skills or experience within:
* Low carbon building design and refurbishment
* Development of decarbonisation NZC pathways for buildings and building portfolios
* Energy audits/surveys. ESOS Leads Assessor registration is desirable, but not essential
* Preparation of Energy/Sustainability Statements for planning purposes
* Knowledge of/qualification in NDEA EPC levels 3, 4 and 5. Familiarity with building modelling including SBEM and DSM packages
* Good working knowledge of Building Regulations Part L (Non-Domestic)
* Good working knowledge of TM54 methodologies
* Knowledge of MEES requirements and preparation of commercial building EPC improvement reports
* Good working knowledge of building services and building management systems to include:
* -the ability to conduct plant replacement studies and feasibility studies
* -the ability to review and optimise building management systems
* -Good working knowledge of renewable energy technologies and related studies, particularly around building mounted solar PV, battery storage and heat pumps
* Good working knowledge and ideally qualification as a provider of one of more of the following building sustainability certification schemes:
* -BREEAM
* -LEED
* -NABERS.
