Interim Finance Technician - SchoolsBased in West London, hybrid workingLength: 6 monthsInside IR35The interim Finance Technician will provide wide ranging Finance support on behalf of a Local Authority, to their schools and nurseries.Day to day duties include:Providing a wide range of support to maintained mainstream and special schools, nurseries and children’s centres including: termly uploads of schools’ finance returns including income and expenditure returns, VAT submittal and bank reconciliationResolving queries and issues and questions with individual schoolsSupporting schools in their closure of accountsManaging the allocation of government grants to schools, notably the DSG, PPG and SSF GrantDeveloping and maintaining a monthly payment schedule to ensure that grants are distributed to schools in a timely manner to avoid cash flow problemsManaging variations from the monthly schedule to facilitate agreed emergency cash advances, agreed loans and growth fundingLiaising with the council’s Treasury team to ensure that government grants are received and correctly allocatedReconciling expenditure to grant income on an on-going basisReporting on and managing the recovery of excess balances as directed by Schools ForumExperience required: Local Government and Schools/Education experience is essentialPart Qualified candidates will be considered
