They’re now looking for a Business Development Manager to help drive the next phase of growth by identifying, developing, and securing new opportunities within the market.
This is a role for someone who understands the steel sector, enjoys building relationships, and knows how to turn conversations into real projects.

The role
This is a field-based position, giving you the autonomy to manage your own time and build relationships with clients across the market. There is an expectation to attend the office around one day per week - head office is based in the Midlands.
You’ll be responsible for winning new business while also managing and developing existing client relationships, ensuring long-term partnerships continue to grow.
Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
* Identifying and targeting new opportunities across structural, secondary and architectural steel markets
* Building and developing strong relationships with contractors, engineers, architects and key project stakeholders
* Managing the full sales cycle from prospecting and meetings through to proposals, negotiation and contract award
* Working closely with estimators and internal teams to develop commercially strong bids
* Managing and developing existing accounts to maximise repeat business
* Maintaining a healthy pipeline of opportunities and managing your own sales diary and client activity
* Keeping CRM systems updated with pipeline activity and forecasts
* Ensuring smooth handover of secured work to project and delivery teams
About you
This role will suit someone who understands how the steel fabrication world works and is comfortable working with technical teams and commercial stakeholders alike.
You’ll bring:
* Experience in business development or sales within structural, secondary or architectural steel
* A solid understanding of how steel projects are specified, priced and delivered
* The ability to interpret drawings and discuss technical requirements with clients and engineers
* Strong relationship-building skills across contractors, consultants and project stakeholders
* A proactive and organised approach, able to manage your own diary and priorities
* Commercial awareness and the confidence to negotiate and close deals
