Job Description Job title: Schemes Underwriter - PI Salary: £40,000 - £60,000 DOE Location: Manchester Purpose of role Lawes Consulting is currently working with a well-regarded insurer who is looking to appoint a Schemes Underwriter to support the continued growth of their Professions Sector portfolio. This role offers the opportunity to work across an established panel of scheme partners, delivering high-quality underwriting and broker service while contributing to wider underwriting strategy and portfolio development. Responsibilities Underwrite and manage schemes business, including referrals and more complex risks Deliver excellent service to scheme partner brokers and manage key relationships Support the profitable growth of the schemes portfolio alongside the Sector Lead Challenge existing approaches and contribute to growth and portfolio strategies Stay up to date with emerging risks and market developments within the Professions Sector Take ownership and accountability for underwriting decisions within your remit Experience Previous underwriting experience in a similar PI role Confident decision-maker in complex or challenging underwriting scenarios Strong relationship management, influencing, and negotiation skills Dip CII qualified or working towards, ideally Comfortable making underwriting recommendations outside of authority (or keen to develop) Keen to develop specialist expertise within a professional lines environment Open-minded, commercial, and comfortable with innovation and informed risk-taking If you have the relevant experience or know someone who does, please get in touch with me on 07889672926 or email us at admin@lawesgroup.co.uk
