Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled MOT Tester to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle safety inspections, ensuring compliance with legal standards, and providing accurate assessments of vehicle condition. Responsibilities
* Conduct MOT tests on a variety of vehicles in accordance with legal requirements and company standards.
* Perform thorough inspections of vehicle components including brakes, lights, suspension, tyres, and emissions systems.
* Accurately record test results and communicate findings clearly to customers.
* Identify and diagnose mechanical issues that may affect vehicle safety or roadworthiness.
* Maintain detailed records of all inspections and tests carried out.
* Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained according to manufacturer guidelines.
* Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times during testing procedures.
Skills
* Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex vehicle systems.
* Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, including manoeuvring vehicle parts or equipment.
* Excellent attention to detail to ensure accurate assessments and compliance with legal standards.
* Good organisational skills to manage multiple inspections efficiently.
* Effective communication skills to explain findings clearly to customers and team members.
