Laboratory Technician – Water Laboratory
ALS Laboratories are looking for a flexible 0-hours Laboratory Technician to support our Water Laboratory in Trowbridge. This is a fast-paced, high-throughput environment where you'll be expected to work with speed and accuracy, while maintaining strong standards for quality and health & safety.
About The Position
Contract: Zero hours Contract
Hourly Salary: £12.42/h
Location: Trowbridge, United Kingdom
The day to day
Carry out laboratory tasks in accordance with documented methodologies and procedures.
Support the preparation and/or analysis of samples as trained and assigned.
Ensure procedures and associated tasks are carried out in line with ALS Quality Work Instructions and site procedures.
Organise designated tasks to maximise daily efficiencies.
Complete work within the timeframe set by the Supervisor and relevant method requirements.
Highlight anomalies in results and sample behaviour where identified.
Maintain a clean, tidy and well-organised work area and dispose of waste correctly.
Complete paperwork and records concisely, accurately and legibly.
Work in accordance with all quality, health & safety procedures, including correct PPE use.
Be willing to be cross-trained in other sections of the laboratory (where required).
Flexibility to work weekend shifts and public holidays if required.
The Essentials
A genuine interest in the science industry.
Relevant laboratory qualification (e.g., college/TAFE/university) or equivalent practical laboratory experience.
Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management skills.
Ability to follow instructions accurately and work at pace without compromising quality.
Confident written and verbal communication skills.
A strong commitment to safe working practices and quality results.
