Job Description
Collaboration Effectiveness Manager
Warminster, Wiltshire
Hybrid 3 Days a week on site
Eligible for security Clearance
Multi‑Organisation Environment
This role exists to make collaboration actually work across a complex defence training environment that brings together the British Army and multiple industry partners, each with their own responsibilities, cultures, and priorities.
Your purpose is simple but demanding: turn collaboration into a competitive advantage, ensuring that separate organisations operate as one integrated, mission‑focused system.
What This Role Is Really About
At its heart, this role is about enabling real decisions, alignment and delivery across organisational boundaries — not theory, not goodwill, and not bureaucracy.
You will:
* Act as a neutral, credible and authoritative facilitator across Army and industry stakeholders
* Help senior teams move from discussion to decision, especially where interests compete
* Ensure collaboration is designed, structured and sustained, not left to chance
You’ll be working in a matrix environment, balancing operational delivery with functional programme governance — always with outcomes for the British Army as the final measure of success.
What You’ll Actually Be Doing
Making collaboration effective at scale
Designing and embedding ways of working that allow multiple organisations to plan, decide and deliver together — particularly where authority is shared, blurred, or distributed.
Facilitating senior‑level conversations
Chairing and guiding complex discussions, surfacing risk, managing disagreement, and helping leaders land decisions they can genuinely commit to.
Bridging Army and industry
Ensuring expectations, constraints and priorities are understood in both directions — building trust, credibility and shared ownership.
Putting structure around collaboration
Creating practical governance, decision‑making frameworks, performance measures and feedback loops so collaboration can be monitored, improved and sustained.
Building collaborative capability
Supporting teams and leaders to work better together through coaching, training and the sharing of best practice.
The Kind of Person We’re Looking For
This role suits someone who:
* Is comfortable operating at senior levels without relying on positional authority
* Has experience in defence, government, or similarly regulated environments
* Understands mission focus, service ethos and accountability
* Can challenge constructively — not bureaucratically
* Is pragmatic, delivery‑driven and calm under pressure
Above all, you believe that real collaboration and synergy are not “nice to have” — they are mission‑critical.
