We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Integrated Community Stroke Therapy Team, based at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary Hospital, working across inpatient and community settings. This is a fixed-term position covering maternity leave.
Our Stroke Therapy Team operates within a supportive multidisciplinary environment, including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, and Assistant Practitioners. We promote an inter-disciplinary approach, working together to support patients in setting and achieving goals, facilitating positive rehabilitation outcomes, and enabling timely hospital discharge.
The team is committed to fostering professional development and research engagement, both in-house and in collaboration with local universities. Regular clinical and managerial supervision is encouraged to support personal growth. We offer opportunities to develop clinical skills and knowledge, primarily in an acute hospital setting at RIL, with potential experience in community pathways.
Staff are supported through our appraisal process, supervision, in-service training, and peer support groups.
Requirements:
* A Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy approved by the Royal College of Occupational Therapists
* Registration with HCPC as an Occupational Therapist
* Ability to travel between sites and within the community
Our Locations:
We operate from three main hospitals: Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal. FGH and RLI provide comprehensive hospital services, including Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units, and various specialist services. WGH offers general hospital services and an Urgent Treatment Centre for minor conditions.
All hospitals provide outpatient, diagnostic, therapy, day surgery, and inpatient services. Our community services aim to support independence and health management through home visits, clinics, GP practices, and community hospitals.
