Provide comprehensive evidence based and skilled nursing care to children within their own home or other community settings. Participate in teaching packages to families, carers and other professionals to ensure evidence based care is safely delivered. Undertake home risk assessments. Obtain informed consent from children, parents and carers before undertaking care. Maintain clear and contemporaneous records.
Ensure information is obtained and recorded before undertaking care. Liaise and work in collaboration with acute services, primary healthcare team and other services as necessary. Provide a flexible service to accommodate the working environment. Travel to visit clients within the Birmingham boundaries.

Education Maintain and update knowledge and skills in relation to the post. To maintain own professional development in line with NMC requirements and attend mandatory training identified by the organisation and NMC.
Participate in the teaching and mentorship of staff. Participate in research and audit relevant to the service. Management and Leadership Responsibilities Maintain standards and ensure clinical governance is central to the function of the service. To identify and advise the Team Leader or senior nurse/manager of any circumstances that give rise for concern.
