Night Porter Caledonian is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Night Porter to join our team at the Caledonian Island Hotel in the Isle of Wight. This is a key role for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and delivers excellent service to guests throughout the night. As Night Porter, you will be responsible for the smooth and safe running of the hotel during overnight hours. Acting as the main point of contact for guests, you will ensure a welcoming, secure and well-managed environment while supporting the wider operation. Key responsibilities include: Handling guest enquiries, incidents and requests, coordinating services in conjunction with the Manager when required. Following company control procedures in line with internal audit requirements. Maintaining full knowledge of emergency and fire procedures and responding confidently when needed. Working closely with the Front Office team to ensure all overnight objectives are achieved. Closing daily business, completing nightly checks, cleaning and securing the property, and preparing for the following day. Supporting other departments during the night shift, including bar or restaurant duties when required. Consistently delivering a high standard of customer service. About you We’re looking for a dependable and proactive individual who thrives during night shifts and takes ownership of their role. You will: Have excellent customer service skills and a calm, professional manner. Demonstrate a positive, can-do attitude and strong self-motivation. Be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment. Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with colleagues. Be a team player with a flexible approach to shift patterns. Previous experience working night shifts is desirable, but not essential.
