This position sits under the current Manaaki Whenua – Landcare Research (MWLR) group of the Bioeconomy Science Institute.
Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role
We are seeking an animal facility technician to join the team at the Manaaki Whenua-Landcare Research Animal Facility to help care for captive wild-caught and laboratory animals. It involves the daily care of animals (feeding and cleaning), and maintenance of the facility as required. The position is permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) and is based at our Lincoln site.
Ō pūmanawa | About you
This role requires a capable, practical person who is comfortable carrying out daily husbandry tasks for multiple animal species. You will have experience of working with animals and an interest in animal research, animal care, and pest control. Ideally you will also have the skills and experience to carry out minor maintenance on buildings, watering systems and fences. This position would suit a person with a rural background.
