£14.06 per hour
Band 4 (starting at minimum point of the scale; higher starting salary may apply depending on relevant experience)

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our Children & Families teams (FIS / LAC / Generic). In this role, you will provide practical, hands‑on support to children, young people, and families based on assessed needs and Care Plans.
The role includes direct work with children, supporting parents, facilitating supervised family time, and contributing to multi‑disciplinary care planning. Some evening and weekend work will be required.

Key Responsibilities
1. Support Social Workers in assessing the needs of children, young people, and families.
2. Assist in implementing Child Care Plans.
3. Undertake direct work with children and young people.
4. Facilitate supervised family time/contact arrangements, including associated driving duties.
5. Support parents and carers to develop skills, confidence, and positive routines.
6. Contribute to parenting programmes (individual and group).
7. Maintain your own caseload and compile written reports, including information for court when required.
8. Keep accurate, up-to-date records in line with policy and procedure.
9. Participate in supervision, training, team meetings, and service development.
10. Liaise effectively with other agencies involved in multi-disciplinary support.
11. Maintain confidentiality and work in line with all organisational policies and procedures.
Essential Criteria
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants must meet ONE of the following routes:
12. Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in a care-related or education-related subject
AND
13. At least 1 year’s experience working with families/children in a formal, regular setting
OR
14. Level 2 qualification in a care-related or education-related subject
AND
15. At least 2 years’ experience working with families/children in a formal, regular setting
OR
16. At least 4 years’ experience working with families/children in a formal, regular setting
Registration
17. Must be NISCC registered
18. Must completed an Enhanced Access NI
Other Requirements
19. Full current UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle
Desirable Criteria

20. Additional experience working with parents/children in a paid formal setting
21. Awareness of family support services
