Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated Veterinary Surgeon to join a long-established, locally-owned surgery in the Greater Manchester area. Since opening its doors in 2000, this practice has built a reputation for excellence, serving a loyal client base with a focus on high-quality community care. The team is now looking for a passionate professional to help support their continued growth.
This position offers a fantastic work-life balance with part-time hours (20 hours per week) and a manageable 1 in 4 weekend rotation. The practice is independently led by a hands-on leadership team that prioritizes a fair and rewarding work environment, evidenced by their excellent staff retention rates.

Whether you are a well-rounded GP or a specialist in medicine, the practice is highly flexible regarding your clinical interests. Notably, consult-only applicants are welcomed and encouraged, making this an ideal role for those who prefer to focus on client interaction and diagnostics over surgery.

About the Team & Location:

The successful candidate will join a supportive and collaborative group, including three full-time vets, a highly skilled team of five nurses, and a friendly front-of-house team of five receptionists. The ethos here is one of mutual growth; the team actively pushes one another to achieve career milestones.

The Location: Conveniently situated on the outskirts of East Manchester, the practice boasts incredible transport links.

City Life: Just a short distance from the heart of Manchester City Centre. Nature: Moments away from the scenic trails of the Peak District. Travel: Excellent proximity to Manchester Airport and local tram networks, perfect for commuters and adventurers alike.

About You:

The ideal candidate is a team player who thrives in a friendly, bustling environment. To complement the existing veterinary team, the practice is looking for someone with:

Solid diagnostic skills and a client-focused approach. A desire to provide an outstanding level of service to the local community. An interest in continuous personal development (CPD). The ability to work well within a large, multi-disciplinary team of nurses and support staff.

Benefits:

Salary: Up to £70,000 (Full-Time Equivalent, dependent on experience).

Consult-Only: Options available for those preferring a non-surgical role.

Development: Generous CPD allowance, including funding and support for Certificates.

Health: Private healthcare coverage.

Professional Fees: Paid memberships including RCVS and VDS.

Balance: No OOH (Out of Hours) requirements.

Culture: A supportive "proud to be part of the team" work ethos.
