Overview
We are looking to recruit a Full time Receptionist/Administrator to join New Islington Medical Practice. This essential role provides a welcoming and professional service to patients and staff. The vacancy is for 37.5 hours per week; flexible working and compressed hours during recruitment will be considered.
You will undertake front-desk responsibilities and assist patients both on the phone and via online consultation forms. Your duties include day-to-day administrative tasks and in-depth use of clinical systems.
Main duties
To be successful, we are looking for someone who is dynamic, can balance multiple tasks, and demonstrates a compassionate approach to patient care. Flexibility is required as we work on a shift basis with normal opening hours from 8:00 to 18:30. Successful candidates may be asked to cover other shifts outside their regular pattern to support holiday cover. There is potential enhanced pay for hours outside the standard window for our extended hours service.
Previous experience is preferred, but not essential as full training will be provided.

Job responsibilities
* Reception duties including booking telephone appointments and inbound calls
* Calling and messaging patients regarding care needs, managing appointments, health campaigns, and priorities set by management
* Updating patient records with accurate information and full documentation of actions
* Processing online consultation forms
* General administrative tasks
* Assessing diverse patient needs and adjusting processes to suit
* Safeguarding vulnerable patients; full training provided as the first point of contact to recognise and flag safeguarding concerns
Person Specification
Essential
* Experience with customer/patient care and general administrative tasks
Desirable
* Safeguarding Level 1 Training
* Experience of working in Primary Care and using EMIS, Docman, AccuRx
