An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a construction and development organisation delivering residential, refurbishment and commercial projects across Scotland. The role offers strong autonomy, varied project exposure and the chance to play a key part in shaping high‐quality developments.
You'll lead the commercial and surveying responsibilities across multiple projects, taking ownership of both pre‐ and post‐contract cost management. This includes financial control, forecasting, reporting, contract administration, subcontractor management and maintaining productive relationships with clients and project teams. You'll help ensure designs remain within budget, support tendering and procurement processes, and contribute to continuous improvement in commercial systems and site performance.
Key Responsibilities
* Full financial and contractual management of assigned projects
* Accurate cost forecasting, monitoring and reporting
* Managing subcontractor accounts, tenders, payments and variations
* Ensuring robust cost control, valuations and cost‐value reconciliation
* Supporting design development within budget constraints
* Attending project meetings and presenting commercial updates
* Contributing to health & safety documentation and compliance
What You'll Bring
* Degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying
* Strong analytical, organisational and problem‐solving capability
* Able to work independently and take ownership of outcomes
* Skilled communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships
* Experience managing clients, subcontractors and supply chain partners
* Knowledge of construction legislation, H&S obligations and NHBC standards
* Competent IT skills, ideally with Microsoft 365
* Full UK driving licence
