Job Summary
We're a small, growing bricklaying team with a build starting 16/09/25, plus repointing jobs etc lined up over the coming weeks. We're looking for an experienced bricklayer or skilled improver who's happy to work on a self-employed, ad hoc basis.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in brickwork and laying foundations and be adept at working with various materials to construct and repair structures. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Duties
* Lay bricks, blocks, and other masonry units according to specifications and design plans.
* Measure and cut materials accurately using hand tools and power tools.
* Construct walls, arches, and other structures, ensuring they are level and aligned correctly.
* Mix mortar and other bonding agents as required for specific projects.
* Perform repairs on existing structures, including repointing and replacing damaged bricks.
* Collaborate with other tradespeople such as carpenters and roofers to complete projects efficiently.
* Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in bricklaying and masonry work is essential.
* Proficiency in using hand tools (trowels, chisels) and power tools (saws, drills) related to masonry.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow technical drawings accurately.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
* Full UK Driving License and own transport would be an advantage.
