Job Description
We are seeking a strategic Senior Commodity Manager to lead global sourcing efforts across engineering items.
Based at either our UK, French or Italian sites, this role is central to delivering savings, driving supplier performance, and developing forward-thinking commodity strategies. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead key negotiations, and manage supplier relationships to ensure alignment with our global objectives.
•Lead and promote the sourcing department's global savings initiatives. Identify and drive opportunities through execution, ensuring consistency across regions. Own savings reporting for all engineering item spend categories.
•Develop and implement robust commodity strategies based on supplier analysis, market trends, technology roadmaps, and business priorities. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to deliver competitive sourcing solutions.
•Lead or support major negotiations, coaching team members to secure optimal commercial outcomes.
•Define and oversee the performance of the supplier panel across relevant products and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
•Own global contract negotiation and execution. Ensure contract continuity and coverage expansion where needed.
•Act as the go-to expert for sourcing and contractual strategies within the commodity scope.
•Organise and lead regular business reviews with suppliers and internal stakeholders to monitor performance and alignment.
•Provide strategic leadership to local commodity leads and ensure governance adherence.
•Champion the use of sourcing tools and methodologies—such as benchmarking, value engineering, cost modeling, and market analysis—to support data-driven negotiations.
Job Requirements
•Extensive experience in supply chain, including team management, supplier relationship management, contract management.
•Knowledge and experience of certain product commodities such as engineered Items
•Prior knowledge of developing strategies in a complex environment
•Understanding of contract management
•Fluency in Microsoft Office or similar spreadsheet, presentation and word processing applications
•Ability to influence senior management levels in the organization.
•Able to lead in both a direct and indirect way
