Position Overview: The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance on a variety of equipment and building systems. This includes diagnosing mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical issues, coordinating parts and repairs, and ensuring documentation is complete and accurate. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and a strong team player with experience in industrial or manufacturing environments. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance & Repair - Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on manufacturing equipment and facility systems. - Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. - Assist with equipment adjustments outside operator scope. ️ Preventive Maintenance - Prepare, review, and execute preventive maintenance plans. - Track spare part inventory, anticipate needs, and place orders as necessary. Documentation & Reporting - Maintain accurate logs, checklists, and reports for daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks. - Compile and update equipment parts lists and maintenance records. Emergency Response - Respond promptly to urgent maintenance needs to minimize production downtime. Operational Support - Support and train new team members on equipment safety and operating standards. - Assist with cross-training initiatives and participate in root cause analysis. Safety & Compliance - Promote a culture of safety, cleanliness, and compliance with company EHS&S policies. - Ensure safe work practices are followed, including proper use of PPE. Qualifications: Education: - High school diploma or GED preferred. Experience: - 1 years of experience in mechanical equipment maintenance (or equivalent combination of education and experience). - Experience with pneumatic control systems, automated lines, electrical controls, and conveyors. - Forklift, compressor, and general facility maintenance knowledge preferred. Skills & Competencies: - Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools. - Effective problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. - Basic math and reasoning skills; ability to read blueprints and equipment manuals. - Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently. - Written and verbal communication skills for reporting and documentation. - Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Physical Requirements: - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally over 100 lbs with assistance. - Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, climb, and use hands for extended periods. - Exposure to heat, cold, humidity, and airborne particles in a manufacturing setting. - Use of PPE required (steel-toe boots, safety goggles, gloves, etc.).
