Buyer position at Matthew Algie, Glasgow Head Office. Full time (39.5 hours per week), permanent.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30-17:00 (Monday to Thursday), 08:30-16:30 (Friday). Salary: £30,000 - £34,500 per annum + benefits.

Purpose Of Role
The Buyer is responsible for procurement activities of specific categories. This includes working with internal departments to obtain product or service specifications, sourcing, and negotiating best overall value for the company. Onboarding and managing supplier relationships while ensuring contractually negotiated services are delivered. Supporting internal departments to ensure adherence to the Procurement policy and purchasing requirements.
Raising Purchase Orders after internal purchasing approval and maintaining optimum stock levels by building strong relationships with suppliers and internal customers. Monitoring stock levels to ensure availability while considering financial targets.
Key Responsibilities
* Support and ensure adherence to company Procurement policy.
* Negotiate prices and terms for purchased goods and services.
* Onboarding, developing, and maintaining supplier relationships.
* Source products or services to required specifications for best value.
* Maintain accurate records of purchases and pricing.
* Create and manage purchase orders for goods and services.
* Ensure timely delivery of products.
* Stock replenishment and maintaining stockholding levels at each location.
* Monitor inventory levels to ensure stock availability.
* Analyse market trends and identify new suppliers.
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
