Overview
Location: Hybrid / Oxford
Due to significant business growth, organically and through acquisitions, we are looking for a Trainee Accounts Assistant, with an initial focus on treasury. As the applicant progresses through their qualification, compliance tasks will become more readily available.

Role and Responsibilities
Treasury
5. Office bank account reconciliations and ensuring the balances are sufficient
6. Foreign currency account reconciliations
7. Client account reconciliations
8. Petty cash reconciliations
9. Daily checking of company bank balances and ensuring sufficient funds available
10. Credit card portal management
11. Setting up client account payments
12. Banking of cash and cheques received
13. Provide ad hoc support and holiday cover to the Accounts Assistant with the following tasks:Setting up of weekly payment runsSetting up ad hoc paymentsVerifying supplier bank detailsTrading bank account reconciliations
Compliance
14. Preparation of various VAT returns for review by the Financial Accountant
15. Complete CIS return submissions
16. Complete ONS and other government and regulator reporting
Training will be provided and further compliance responsibilities will become available as the applicant progresses through their qualification.
Experience and Skills Required
Essential
17. Good academic results to GCSE and preferably A-Level
18. An appetite to progress and study towards an accounting qualification (AAT, with pathway to chartership through ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
19. A good working knowledge of Excel
Desirable
20. Knowledge of Sage 200 and other relevant ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite
