This vacancy is for an Apprentice Machinist based in Accrington
This rewarding career requires a broad skill set –math, mechanical design, interpreting technical drawings and programs, eye for detail – to properly transform a metal casting into a valuable working machined part.
Duties will include:
* Observing, learning, and understanding a wide range of engineering skills and processes while under the instruction of skilled technical staff.
* To be able to demonstrate these skills and processes as the training period progresses to undertake tasks as instructed and increasing overall contribution to the department.
* To undertake and successfully complete suitable courses throughout the training period (as required by the company), achieving the academic grades and practical skills in order to entitle yearly progression leading to the completion of the training course.
* Learning and understanding the importance of Health and Safety within the workplace.
* To develop the skills to construct or modify products from verbal instructions and drawings.
* To learn how to keep work equipment in good repair.
* To maintain a logbook over the duration of the apprenticeship period, recording projects that have been undertaken and the skills learned.
* A CNC machining role involves operating, setting up, and maintaining computer–controlled machines to produce precision parts. Key responsibilities include interpreting technical drawings, loading raw materials, programming the machine, and monitoring the production process to ensure final products meet strict quality specifications
Training to be provided
L2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing (Foundation Competence).
L2 Diploma in Machining (Foundation Knowledge).
L3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competencies) Machining.
L3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge).
