Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time GP Receptionist to join our friendly, brilliant and hard working reception team based at the Limehouse Practice in Tower Hamlets.
The practice is looking for an experienced dedicated receptionist to join our team.
Hours per week: (negotiable)
Days of work: Monday to Friday (with occasional Saturdays)
Work start time: 8:00AM (requirement)
Applicantsshould be flexible and able to work in a busy environment both face to face andover the telephone.
Essentialskills include good communication, a willingness to learn with the ability touse own initiative and be part of the team.
Previous experience of working in a GP Surgery is a plus but not essential as full training will be provided to the right candidate.
Main duties of the job
Mainaspects of the role are to receive, assist and direct patients in accessing theappropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient andeffective way. Project a positive, friendly image to patients and visitors.

Job responsibilities
15. Ensuring the appropriate person is notified of the patients arrival
16. Book and schedule patient appointments using the EMIS
17. Ensure the smooth running of the waiting area and be observant of the patients waiting
18. Answer the telephone promptly and deal with enquiries in a helpful and courteous manner
19. Ensure all forms of correspondence are processed in a timely manner
20. Undertake general clerical duties including photocopying, filing and faxing
21. Ensure the reception area is kept tidy and all areas are safe
22. To deal with sensitive information and be able to emphasise with patients, colleagues and others
23. To process repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice procedures
24. To attend and contribute to staff meetings and development meetings constructively
