Role Purpose:


VP Retail Media, would lead the strategic vision, growth, and execution of our retail media business. They would be overseeing product innovation, commercialization, sales, analytics, and operations to ensure advertisers achieve ROI while enhancing the customer journey. This is a high-impact leadership role driving transformation at the intersection of commerce and media and a critical driver of growth for a well-established global retail omnichannel business, with its head office in Dubai, and operations across 15 markets in the MEA region.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

o Define and execute the long-term roadmap for retail media growth.

o Champion full-funnel media strategies across onsite, offsite, and in-store channels.

o Align media solutions with customer-centric values and business objectives.

Product & Commercialization

o Oversee development and launch of new ad products.

o Ensure seamless integration of media offerings with e-commerce and store operations.

o Build and scale strategic relationships with advertisers, agencies, and adtech partners.

o Lead consultative sales efforts to deliver measurable outcomes across tier 1 tier 2 and tier 3 advertiser reaching the long tail of clients

o Expand monetization opportunities across supplier and marketplace ecosystems.

Data & Analytics

o Leverage first-party data to deliver actionable insights and optimize media mix.

o Champion test-and-learn approaches to drive incremental ROI.

o Ensure robust performance tracking and reporting for advertisers.

Team & Culture

o Lead cross-functional teams across product, sales, analytics, and operations.

o Foster a culture of innovation, agility, and customer obsession.

o Represent the retail media business internally and externally as a thought leader.

Business scale

leading a team of 50+ with 4 direct reports and possible growing to reach 100-150 FTE with full sized sales organization in 2-3 years

o Revenue and turnover today measured at USD 100Million

Definition of Success

• Achieves and exceeds revenue targets through effective monetization of digital and physical assets.

• Delivers consistent ROI for advertisers, validated by closed-loop measurement and incremental sales lift.

• Improves media efficiency and conversion rates across full-funnel campaigns.

Required Background:

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in a relevant discipline

• 15+ years in media, advertising, or retail leadership roles

• Proven success in building and scaling retail media networks is essential

• Deep understanding of adtech, data analytics, and omnichannel marketing

• Strong executive presence and stakeholder management skills

• Experience with first-party data, identity resolution, and closed-loop attribution

• Passion for transforming the customer experience through media innovation

Skills

• Retail media strategy development across full-funnel and omnichannel environments

• Business model innovation and monetization of digital and physical assets

• Customer-centric mindset with a deep understanding of shopper behaviour and journey mapping

Data & Analytics Expertise

• First-party data utilization for targeting, personalization, and measurement

• Closed-loop attribution and ROI modelling

• Advanced analytics and performance optimization using dashboards, A/B testing, and predictive modelling

AdTech & Product Knowledge

• Familiarity with ad platforms (DSPs, SSPs, etc)

• Experience with sponsored search, display, video, and in-store media formats

• Understanding of identity resolution, audience segmentation, and privacy-compliant targeting

Commercial & Partnership Skills

• Enterprise sales leadership and consultative selling to brands and agencies

• Strategic partnership development with adtech vendors, data providers, and retail suppliers

• Contract negotiation and deal structuring for media investments and joint ventures

Operational & Organizational Leadership

• Cross-functional team management across product, sales, analytics, and engineering

• Agile execution and change management in fast-paced environments

• Budgeting, forecasting, and P&L ownership for media business units

Communication & Influence

• Executive presence and ability to influence C-suite stakeholders

• Thought leadership in retail media, commerce media, and digital advertising

• Public speaking and industry representation at conferences, panels, and media events


Relocation and family package is provided with full relocation support, including family joining tickets, two weeks temporary accommodation, relocation compensation.
