As a Vehicle and Plant Technician, you’ll be at the heart of maintaining our extensive and diverse fleet. This includes essential maintenance for Highways, Street Lighting, Passenger Transport, Mobile Libraries, and Winter Maintenance vehicles. Your timely, cost-effective repairs will keep Lancashire’s front-line services moving efficiently, ensuring our communities remain safe and connected. What you'll do: Diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of vehicles, including LGVs, PSVs, light vehicles, and plant machinery. Fit, service and repair auxiliary equipment such as tail lifts, trackers, cameras, heaters, generators, pumps, and specialist winter service equipment. Deliver high-quality work to keep frontline services operational, from gritting and highways to mobile libraries. In this role, you’ll work a 37-hour week with the opportunity to earn overtime paid at time and a quarter, plus a tool allowance. You’ll also take part in our standby rota, covering one week in every four. The current standby allowance is £171.45 per week, and any call-outs during this time are paid at time and a quarter, with additional rest time provided for unsociable hours. Who we're looking for: Level 3 automotive qualification in a relevant discipline Category B driving license Experience in one or more of the following disciplines: Plant/Mobile Technician, Light Vehicle Technician, PSV/HGV Technician or Auto Electrician.
