Main duties of the job
* Provide full administrative and secretarial support to Sleep Consultants.
* Act as a key liaison between patients, clinicians, departments, and external organisations.
* Manage consultants’ diaries, appointments, and clinic schedules, including changes and urgent bookings.
* Coordinate patient pathways, ensuring timely appointments, investigations, and follow-ups.
* Prepare and send clinic letters and correspondence within required timeframes.
* Handle telephone enquiries, triaging calls and responding sensitively and appropriately.
* Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all information systems are up to date.
* Ensure test results and documentation are available before clinics and procedures.
* Monitor waiting lists and patient tracking lists to meet RTT (18-week) and service targets.
* Liaise with internal teams and external trusts to arrange referrals and investigations.
* Prioritise urgent results and follow up outstanding information as needed.
Person specification
Qualifications
* RSA Level 3 or equivalent level of experience
* MS Excel & Powerpoint
Experience
* Secretarial and administration experience
* Experience in dealing with the public + Data Protection and confidentiality within a customer service environment
* Experience in Medical administration
