Job description


This is an exciting opportunity to join the Marketing and Communications team at the Government Property Agency. The team is at the heart of ensuring that the GPA is recognised as a public sector property holding company creating great places to work for civil servants.

Working across the team to support delivery of projects and requests. The main responsibility of this post holder is to develop content for use across a range of internal communications platforms including intranet, newsletters, and internal digital channels, always ensuring the content is impactful, high-quality and consistent with the GPA's brand. The holder will have a good understanding of video editing, preferably using Adobe products, and be able to work with the other similar role holder in the team on evaluation, data gathering and metrics.

They will need to be an excellent digital communicator with strong content creation skills and the ability to proactively support the management of the GPA's platforms. You will need technical expertise and a good understanding of a range of communications methods and channels will be essential in this role.

The team meets face to face once a month at different GPA locations and regular attendance at your local office is expected. There may also be other ad hoc other travel required.

Key Responsibilities

* Creatively communicate the GPAs story to key audiences, raising our profile.
* Day-to-day support of internal communications channels - digital newsletters and email bulletins, the GPA intranet – producing and agreeing content plans and delivering content.
* Shared duties with other similar role holder on metrics, video production and dashboards.
* Gather metrics and evaluation from channels and strategically use keywords and hashtags successfully to drive people to our digital content.
* Produce and support high-quality, audience-focussed content for key GPA announcements for internal audience and low/no cost campaigns - making use of creative content, partnerships and existing/emerging digital channels.
* Produce engaging video content.
* Support for internal events including event admin and live event support.
* Support to drive engagement with channels.


Person specification

* Able to demonstrate expertise and experience of creating engaging digital content and devising and delivering creative communications activity against measured objectives, outputs and outcomes; including experience of using social media analytic tools.
* Having ability to deliver communications to a diverse range of audiences and stakeholders across an organisation's remit, based on thorough understanding and insight for each audience group.
* Experience in video production or graphic design would be beneficial or ability to commission and lead.
* Have knowledge across all communication disciplines.
* Experience of helping to support events.
* Comfortable working to deadlines, prioritising multiple tasks and working as a team and in partnership with other team members and stakeholders.
* High quality design and written skills to create engaging digital content and impactful written content including blogs, case-studies, news articles and marketing content.
* Ability and willingness to travel to monthly face to face team meetings and other events when required.

Experience & Technical Skills

Essential criteria:

* Able to demonstrate expertise and experience of creating engaging digital content and devising and delivering creative communications activity.
* Good at storytelling - high quality written content.
* Expertise in video editing, preferably using Adobe products.
* Familiar with content management systems, such as WordPress.
* Experience supporting a fast-paced communications team.

Desirable criteria:

* Familiar with relevant social media platforms, such as Viva Engage and LinkedIn.
* Experience in helping to support events.

Qualifications and Accreditations

Essential criteria:

* You are expected to be proficient in each of the Government Communication Service (GCS) core competencies to HEO level.

Desirable criteria:

* Membership of a professional marketing or communications body and/or professional marketing qualification is desirable.
* Qualification in a communications discipline.
