*Outside IR35* Role Purpose: A chartered Civil (structures) or Structural Engineer, with a strong technical background and an ability to demonstrate a professional competency in structural engineering. An experience of working on a wide range of projects encompassing superstructures and substructures. Must have an ability to design and inspect steel, concrete and masonry structures to British and Eurocode Standards. The role will be to carry out structural inspections and design audits on new construction, or condition assessments of existing buildings. Also, to assist the Technical Director in running the Structural Engineering Team, expanding its workload, and gaining new opportunities. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Carry out technical design audits and risk appraisals of whole or elements of building projects Carry out technical and quality structural inspections of whole or elements of building projects Meeting attendance Day-to-day running of projects Keep up to date with developments in civil structures, and structural engineering standards Technical report writing Must have good communication skills in order to have interaction with clients and other design team members Willingness to travel Ability to carry out structural inspections of a variety of structures Experience & Skills Required: Must have strong experience in civil and structural engineering Experience in structural and building inspections Experience in structural design Experience of high rise building design an advantage Good communication skills and ability to write technical reports Detailed knowledge of relevant design codes Ability to work independently or in a team. Enthusiasm for engineering quality and improvement Qualifications Required: Degree in civil or structural Engineering. Member of a professional institution, ICE or IStructE Chartered status, CEng
