Functional area: Operations & Maintenance
The Offshore Wind Turbine Technician is responsible, with others, to provide maintenance, servicing and inspection of wind turbines, to ensure the assets are maintained in a safe, efficient and cost-effective manner, maximising the commercial value within compliant requirements.
About the role:
1. Encourage and join colleagues in building and maintaining a positive safety culture at the site
2. Carryout fault finding, maintenance and servicing of wind turbines, including annual servicing, reactive and proactive maintenance, inspections, retrofits and main component exchanges
3. Work proactively and in a flexible manner, in a small remote team, to minimise failures and maximise the performance of the wind farm
4. Be prepared to have a flexible approach to working hours around the weather and workload and flexible to travel to other sites within the fleet
5. Support all areas of site operations, working on projects, spares and other non-routine works
6. Working Pattern:The role will be on a rotational shift basis; 7 days on / 7 days off, ‘core’ hours to be based on a 37hr week average over a two-week rotation but working up to a 12hr shift each day, including some overtime
7. This role is considered a flexible role with periods of Service Operations Vessel (SOV) deployment as well as Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) deployment for the appointed candidate. This will mean that when the SOV is at Gabbard the shift pattern will change to 14 days on / 14 days off to match with the SOV operation
Job requirements and experience:
8. Wind turbine technician experience, related to O&M OR similar Heavy Industrial background, ideally experienced in multi-system complex fault finding
9. A sound understanding of HSSE systems, to establish a safe work environment, including team leadership skills
10. Existing WTSR Authorisations such as CT or AT / knowledge of similar Safe Systems of Work
11. Effective Teamwork & Communication Skills (Verbal, Written & IT); to allow affective remote Safe, high-quality work
12. Positive & engaged attitude towards improving work processes and practices to constantly improve
13. Commercial awareness of Wind Generation and importance of Key Performance Indicators
14. A Full UK Clean Driving Licence
15. Comfortable working at height and at sea
16. Depending on the candidate, comprehensive in‑role training will be provided to support professional development. This may include, but is not limited to, technical training, QHSE development, and leadership or management courses
