Due to internal growth, we’re adding a talented Indirect Buyer to our regional Procurement team. This person will be based in either Charlotte, NC, or Martin, SC.
Duties:
* Support the management of the indirect spend category for North America
* Execute the purchasing strategy:
* Support the execution of overall category strategy and drive results in line with local and global procurement strategy
* Take ownership of purchasing materials and services
* Create purchase orders
* Follow-up with suppliers
* Achieve results using tools such as competitive bidding, negotiation, market analysis, and benchmarking
* Follow internal procedures for spend approval
* Follow-up on supplier related issues based on service levels, PO activities, or projects
* Collaborate and follow-up with internal stakeholders to achieve administrative efficiency and good service level
* Coordinate CAPEX activities with the sites and other stakeholders
* Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related
* BBA or MBA is a plus
* At least 7 years’ experience with indirect procurement in a variety of categories
* Proven history of contract management and category expertise
* Experience with SAP MM, Microsoft Office, Access and OneNote
* Strong analytical problem-solving skills
* Experience in continuous improvement or lean six sigma a plus
* Sense of ownership and personal accountability
* Able and willing to operate both strategically and tactically
* Effective verbal and written communication skills
