Job Title: WMS Systems Engineer
Location: Spondon, Derby
Contract Hours: 42 hours per week

Overview:
Our team’s mission is to provide first-level support for all fulfillment systems (including WMS, WCS) at our automated production site in Derby, with occasional support at our German facility in Barleben. As part of a new warehouse software implementation team, you will work cross-functionally with key stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse operations. You will serve as the first point of contact for system-related inquiries.
What You Will Be Doing:
13. Provide real-time support for our Warehouse Control System (WCS) and Warehouse Management System (WMS)
14. Identify opportunities for operational improvement, recommend and implement change controls, and define local reporting requirements
15. Develop dashboards to enable system analysis and monitoring
16. Continuously evaluate software systems, driving improvements through enhancements or change requests
17. Coordinate with suppliers and internal development teams to resolve critical system issues
18. Create and maintain work instructions, standard operating procedures, and training materials for WMS and WCS
19. Ensure comprehensive reporting structures are in place to support operational transparency
Who You Are:
20. Strong experience working in WMS/WCS-driven production or fulfillment environments, for example, as a system superuser or software engineer
21. SQL querying skills are essential for this position
22. It would be advantageous to have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Engineering, but equivalent professional experience is good too
23. Solid understanding of supply chain processes and supporting technologies
24. Demonstrated interest in process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives
25. Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage tasks independently while consistently meeting deadlines - therefore problem solving skills in an operational environment are essential
26. This is a business facing position and very customer centric - therefore in-person technical support is essential
27. Python scripting and Coding would be advantageous for this position and are tools you'll be given the opportunity to upskill within
