The Pivotal Role
As VP of SEO – Strategy you will lead across our portfolio, ensuring our work reflects how humans seek information across search engines, LLMs, social search and emerging answer platforms.
Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Leadership & Direction
o Develop and implement comprehensive SEO strategies across the client portfolio.
o Oversee strategic direction for SEO and discovery activity across all modern platforms.
o Embed behavioural science and audience insights into all strategies during account reviews.
o Collaborate with the Innovation Lead to enhance strategies using AI (e.g., GEO optimisation, conversational search insights).
o Work closely with Paid Media, Content, Digital PR and Strategy Director leads.
o Introduce new channels, testing frameworks and Total Search experiment designs.
* Commercial Growth & Marketing
o Identify and shape upsell / cross‑sell opportunities across all agency services.
o Manage SEO involvement in new business activity (RFPs, proposals, scoping, pitching).
o Represent the agency at key industry events to build relationships and pipelines.
* Team & Department Development
o Provide guidance and mentorship to SEO account managers.
o Lead development of Strategy as a core pillar with a roadmap for Search Strategy function.
o Encourage curiosity, experimentation and collaboration across teams.
o Partner with Strategy Director on new business and with Growth team on account growth.
* Innovation & Quality
o Champion experimentation culture and continuous optimisation across all channels.
o Identify tools, technologies and data sources that enhance strategy.
o Maintain high standards of quality across all deliverables.
